Bengaluru residents should prepare for more rain this week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city, which will remain in place until June 13. On June 9, the city witnessed showers, and more intense rainfall is expected in the evenings over the coming days.
The downpour has already caused waterlogging in several key areas, leading to crawling traffic movement. Nagawara Outer Ring Road, KR Puram, Jayanagara, Wipro junction among others are some crucial roads affected by the waterlogging.
Meanwhile, a solo weather forecast also issued an alert for more rain towards the evening. He shared the prediction on X, formerly Twitter, saying, "4.30PM UPDATE: RAINFALL ALERT FOR BENGALURU. Moderate to heavy rains being reported from Bellandur, Marathahalli, HSR layout, and Sarjapur Road Light rains across North Bengaluru Total Miss for NW, West , SW and large parts of South Bengaluru. It was not TS rains. More like fast moving monsoon rain shaft. #bengalururains #BengaluruRain".
7-day IMD Weather Forecast
From June 9 to June 15, the weather is expected to stay mostly cloudy with spells of rain throughout the week.On June 9 and 10, skies will remain generally cloudy. Light rain is expected on June 9, followed by heavier showers on June 10. Temperatures will range between 21°C and 30°C.
From June 11 to June 12, the cloudy weather continues with occasional light rain. The temperature may go up slightly, reaching 32°C.
June 13 is likely to be a dry day with partly cloudy skies, offering a short break from the rain.
However, rain is forecast to return on June 14 and June 15, with cloudy skies and temperatures hovering between 20°C and 32°C.
