In yet another case of a husband-wife fight getting fatal, a woman in Maharashtra's Sangli killed her husband with an axe, just three weeks after they got married. The incident took place in Kupwad town of Sangli district when 29-year-old Radhika Lokhande murdered her 50-year-old husband with an axe on Wednesday.
Radhika married Anil Lokhande just three weeks ago, and the two had an argument on Tuesday night, according to Assistant Police Inspector (ASI) Deepak Bhandavalkar of MIDC Police Station. At around 12:30 pm on Wednesday, when Anil was asleep, Radhika hit him on the head with an axe, killing him on the spot.
Radhika then informed about the murder to her cousin. The accused has been arrested and has been sent to police custody after being produced before the court. According to the police, the primary reason for the murder is said to be a family feud.
The case comes amid the Meghalaya honeymoon murder probe that has left the nation shocked. Sonam Raghuvanshi and four others have been arrested for allegedly planning and killing her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, in a planned manner.
Sonam Raghuvanshi had married Raja Raghuvanshi on May 11, and the two went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 22. A day later, the couple suddenly disappeared, leading to a massive manhunt by the Meghalaya police.
Around 10 days later, Raja Raghuvanshi's decomposed body was found in a deep gorge. But Sonam was still missing. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed, which later arrested Sonam from a dhaba in Ghazipur on June 9.
Since then, a series of chilling details from the case have emerged, suggesting that it was Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha who planned the murder long ago. The Meghalaya honeymoon was part of Sonam's sinister plan. Raj had hired contract killers to murder
