Of late, fans have been eagerly awaiting news about Veere Di Wedding 2. In 2023, producer Rhea Kapoor confirmed that the sequel to the 2018 hit, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania, is officially in development. The announcement left the fans hooked, and the film's director, Rhea Kapoor had shared details about the film at the time in an interview.

In an interview with News18, Rhea shared, “I’m working on Veere Di Wedding 2. It’s going to be very different, not what people are expecting. I didn’t want to move forward with it unless I was sure it would surpass the first one. That was a tough decision because Veere Di Wedding means everything to me. I’m deeply attached to it, and I truly love that film. I knew I had to feel the same joy I did the first time around in order to commit. So yes, the sequel is happening.”
