Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Ending EXPLAINED: Murder Trial Ends With Twist, Plus Who Is Pregnant? (Image credit: Netflix)
This season of Ginny & Georgia turned into a real legal drama with Georgia (Brianne Howey) standing trial for the murder of Tom Fuller. Under house arrest for most of the season, the character reaches rock bottom before she can start to rebuild. Her children Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Austin (Diesel La Torraca) also go through the paces as they deal with the possibility of their mother behind bars. So what happens to Georgia, and how does the series leave viewers with another cliffhanger before Season 4? Let's find out! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Does Georgia go to jail?
Thankfully, no. It's down to a final Hail Mary testimony by Austin. The young boy reveals that yes, he did witness the murder of Tom Fuller, who was already in a coma and in hospice at his home. While a shocked Georgia thinks he will reveal that she did it, Austin names his father, Gil (Shawn Ashmore), for the deed. That's not all; his sister Ginny is the one who orchestrated the whole thing. She makes sure to hire her dad’s girlfriend, Simone (Vinessa Antoine), to be Georgia’s lawyer, and the teenager blackmails Tom's wife, Cynthia (Sabrina Grdevich), to admit that Gil could have been at her house the night of the murder. Ginny makes sure that her family is not broken with Georgia being sent off to jail and Gil taking custody of Austin. In the end, Ginny is following right in the footsteps of her mother.
How does the Miller family regroup at the end of Season 3?
Georgia can finally see the effects of her past actions on her children. She's horrified to see Ginny be just like her and also to find out that Austin saw her smother Tom with a pillow. But now that the murder trial is over, with the trio finally reunited, their unhealthy and fractured family relationship will begin to heal into the next season. With Gil back in jail for murder, the threat of Austin leaving is taken away as well. However, Ginny's father, Zion (Nathan Mitchell), is threatening to file for custody of his daughter, so we're not completely out of the woods yet.
Who is pregnant in the finale?
Halfway through the season, Ginny also reveals to her mother that she's pregnant with Wolfe’s baby. While Georgia is shocked, she supports her daughter’s decision to have an abortion. Ginny and her ex, Marcus (Felix Mallard), also grow apart as the latter's depression and alcoholism worsen and he is sent to rehab after a breakdown.
Eventually, it is Georgia who is pregnant again. After faking a pregnancy earlier in the season, she is truly pregnant in the last moments of the show. But the question is, who is the father? Besides the anxiety-ridden murder trial, Georgia also had romantic problems with both her recent ex-husband, Mayor Paul (Scott Porter), and old friend Joe (Raymond Ablack). Both men are good for Georgia, but the identity of the father remains a secret until next season.
