Summer Fashion 2025: The Anklet Is Back, Baby—Gigi, Kim, and Footnote Royalty

One Y2K trend that has become big this summer is the anklet. A-lister celebrities and social media personalities who call the shots when it comes to fashion trends have been seen sporting them. Gold chains, pearls, diamonds (yes, Kim Kardashian wore a jaw-dropping diamond on her feet), or colourful beads—the world is your playground when it comes to anklets. Well, it's all about having fun in fashion these days. At least the Labubu craze, and now flirty and feminine anklets, are giving us the vibe.

The latest to give her approval to the anklet trend? Gigi Hadid. The supermodel, who has been promoting her new collaboration with Havaianas, has been sporting anklets for her various product shoots and at events. She was seen wearing her tweed Marc Jacobs minidress with yellow flip-flops, but what we loved was her playful beaded anklet.

But Gigi isn't the first one. The OG diva and influencer Kim Kardashian has been seen sporting anklets on beaches and at some of the most exclusive red carpet events. In fact, she’s been on an anklet renaissance for a couple of years now. Well, that's Kim for you. Just recently, she stepped out for dinner at Le Voltaire in Paris after her court case. She wore a sheer brown slip dress from John Galliano, a coat from Saint Laurent, which she teamed with peep-toe heels and a diamond anklet.

On another occasion in April, the reality TV star and founder of SKIMS shared a couple of snaps from her vacation on Instagram. And, well, Kim had stacked four anklets on top of each other—with pink sapphires and diamonds. In 2023, she wore another diamond-looking chain with a metallic gold bikini.

Kylie Jenner wore an anklet as she attended Chanel’s Spring 2025 couture show. Her chic miniskirt suit was teamed with a chain anklet and pumps.
