When you think about enjoying Spanish desserts, Mediterranean cafes and streets lined with cafes, the thought of experiencing it all comes to an end when you think of planning a vacation. But here’s a sweet surprise where you can experience the best churros not only in Barcelona or Madrid, but in Thiruvananthapuram. As monsoon rains dampen the streets of Kuravankonam, the region is experiencing a revolution in fried desserts, which is a combination of crispy and sugary bites.
Talking about the place, Kuravanonam is renowned for its vibrant street food culture, which is usually buzzing with life. But on rainy evenings, the scene changes instantly. Food trucks and kiosks sit quietly, and the aroma of something frying cuts through the stillness. It’s coming from Moffles, a modest stall that has become one of the go-to spots for Spanish churros in the city.
At a glance, the name of the destination may seem puzzling, but the place offers a blend of momo and waffles that will surely take your palate to another world. The restaurant started with the idea of selling waffles and momo, but since the waffle iron was proven to be complicated, they kicked it off with churros instead, which became their signature item.

Fried to perfection later, the churros come out crispy on the outside with a soft and cakey interior.
By introducing a Spanish dessert down south, the people were believed to be hesitant to try at first, but the owners started handing out free samples to everyone who came for the momo. Slowly, people started asking for the churros, which was a complete win for them. The move also discovered that Kerala’s palate was ready to try out something new and interesting.
Now, the menu at Moffles is something that no one could ever resist. You can try cinnamon churros, cheese-filled churros, and chocolate-dipped varieties, which are great for people who love exploring with their food choices.
