A heartwarming video of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and former Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Pinaki Misra dancing to the timeless Bollywood melody 'Raat Ke Humsafar' has taken social media by storm. The clip offers a rare and intimate glimpse into the couple's recent low-key wedding celebration.
The wedding, held privately in Berlin, Germany, was kept under wraps until snippets from the celebration surfaced online. The video, now widely shared, captures the newlyweds swaying gracefully to the romantic track from the 1967 film An Evening in Paris.
Moitra, who represents West Bengal's Krishnanagar constituency, and Misra, a seasoned parliamentarian from Odisha's Puri, opted for a quiet ceremony attended only by close friends and family. The understated affair surprised many in political circles, as neither had made a public announcement about the wedding. While the couple remained tight-lipped, the viral video has offered the public a charming peek into their private moment.
After the wedding news was confirmed, in a post on X, Moitra wrote, "Thank you everyone for the love and good wishes!! So grateful." Several people, including political colleagues, extended congratulations on social media. Insiders noted that senior leaders from both the Trinamool Congress and the Biju Janata Dal were unaware of the ceremony.
For her wedding, Moitra opted for a rich Varanasi brocade saree by Raw Mango and classic gold jewellery. The Indian fashion label shared a couple of snaps on their official Instagram handle and captioned them, "The bride wore the custom Parigul sari in pale pink Varanasi brocade woven with silk and real zari, with rani pink meenakari work on the trellis of flowers. It is paired with the Gulshera blouse, in satin silk."
The groom opted for a custom quilted bundi—dreamed up in pale pink handwoven silk.
