YUZVENDRA CHAHAL

Spin wizard Yuzvendra Singh Chahal became the talk of the town when the Haryana bowler bagged 34 wickets in the 2009 National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy. Chahal was keen on becoming a seasoned campaigner in first-class cricket when Mumbai Indians (MI) offered him an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract in 2011. Not under Virat Kohli, but Chahal made his IPL debut under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Released by Mumbai Indians after IPL 2013, Chahal ended up playing all matches of an IPL season when he joined Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chahal's rapid rise in the IPL during his stint with RCB earned him debut call-ups in the white-ball formats. Since his international debut in 2016, Chahal has played 60-plus One Day Internationals (ODIs) and over 50 T20Is for Team India. Ending his fruitful stint with RCB, Chahal joined forces with Ravichandran Ashwin at Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the 15th season of the cash-rich league. Spinner Chahal bagged his 250th T20 wicket in his debut game for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022.
