Released on June 9, 2025, at 6:03 PM, the teaser drop was strategically timed to coincide with the birthday of lead actor Nandamuri Balakrishna on June 10. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the sequel has been generating significant buzz since its announcement, fueled by the massive success and fan following of the original. The teaser, now streaming across all major digital platforms and social media, serves as the first major promotional material for the film. Alongside the teaser, the makers also announced the film’s release date. Akhanda 2 is set to hit theatres on September 25, 2025, coinciding with the Dussehra festival, adding to the festive excitement. The film is produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri. Music is composed by Thaman S, who also scored the original. The technical crew includes cinematographers C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae, editor Tammiraju, and art director AS Prakash.

The original Akhanda, released in December 2021, was a massive commercial success, earning over Rs 150 crore worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing film of Balakrishna’s career.
