IPL 2025: Shubman Gill-Led Gujarat Titans Resume Training, Jos Buttler Flies Home - Report
Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans has become the first team to resume training for IPL 2025. The tournament is presently suspended. The BCCI will soon announce the schedule for the remainder of the matches. The tournament is likely to restart on May 16 or 17.

The IPL 2025 is set to resume following the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan. The tournament came to a halt during the match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals on May 8. The play was suspended during the first inings and the players were brought to Delhi from Dharamsala.
A day later, the BCCI suspended IPL for a week due to the tensions between India and Pakistan. The tournament is now set to resume and the 59th match of IPL 2025 could be played on May 16 or 17.
Gujarat Titans (GT) has become the first team to resume training. The Times of India has reported that the GT players trained at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (May 11). Jos Buttler and Gerald Coetzee returned home but they will come back as required, an official told TOI.
Many foreign players and coaches left for their countries but that wasn't the case in the Punjab Kings' (PBKS) camp. Ricky Ponting, the PBKS' head coach, deboarded the plane to Australia after the ceasefire came into effect. He also gave a pep talk to the overseas players. PBKS all-rounder, Marco Jansen flew to Dubai and will be back to play the remainder of the tournament.
IPL 2025 points table
With 8 wins from 11 matches, GT sit at the top spot in the IPL 2025 points table. The IPL 2022 Champions have 16 points in their account at an NRR of +0.793.
GT are followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who also have the same number of wins and points. They have a lower NRR than GT. PBKS and Mumbai Indians sit at the next two spots, respectively.
IPL 2025 will resume with RCB taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). DC and PBKS shared points after their match was suspended. The IPL 2025 final is likely to get shifted from Kolkata to Ahmedabad due to a rain prediction in the city on May 30.
