Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will square off with Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (June 3). Both teams are on the cusp of winning the elusive trophy for the first time and IPL is set to have first-time IPL Champions.
RCB will be playing their fourth IPL final on Tuesday. They played their first IPL final back in 2009. The Anil Kumble-led side fell short against Deccan Chargers in the final. In 2011, Daniel Vettori-led RCB lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final. Virat Kohli-led RCB lost to David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2016 final.
RCB finished at the second spot in the IPL 2025 points table and made it to the final with a win over PBKS in the first qualifier.
PBKS will be making their second IPL final appearance. Their sole IPL final appearance came in 2014. Led by George Bailey, PBKS lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling final.
It's only the third time that PBKS have managed to clear the league stage. PBKS topped the IPL 2025 points table. Both teams have been part of every IPL season since the tournament's inception. RCB have plenty of international stars in their line-up while PBKS' success heavily relies on their uncapped players.
The summit clash of IPL 2025 will kick off at 7:30 PM IST. The toss will take place half an hour before the scheduled start. The BCCI will pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces during the closing ceremony, which will take place before the start of the play.
