Violence Erupts In Bangladesh Ahead Of Elections, 5 Killed After Train Set On Fire
There is a surge in violence in Bangladesh ahead of the general election on January 7. Several coaches of a train were set on fire, killing 5 people. 3 polling booths were also attacked and set ablaze. There is tension ahead of the polls as this is an election that the main opposition party is boycotting. The opposition says that PM Sheikh Hasina's party is trying to legitimise a sham vote that will deliver her a fourth straight term.
